Monuments and Markers

Monuments and markers also known as headstones, tombstones, grave markers, footstones or bronze plaques are the traditional way families identify the graves of loved ones.

Fairway Monuments will guide you through your selection of a cemetery monument, bronze marker, mausoleum engraving or other memorial products. We will provide you with complete service through the entire process from the selection of the design, including all the necessary cemetery paperwork, up to and including the final installation.

Upright Monuments

Granite Slants

There are generally two styles of raised headstones: bevels and slants. A bevel marker has a 2” pitch, or bevel, from front to back, making it easier to find in the cemetery than a lawn level headstone. A slant marker is usually 12 – 16 inches tall and can be ordered with or without a granite base. Slant markers come in a variety of interesting shapes and finishes allowing for a more personal and creative memorial tribute.

Granite Flush

Granite markers are flat and they are set flush with the ground. They typically are used in cemeteries that are classified as Memorial Parks. These cemeteries do not have or allow the traditional slant or upright headstones which gives the cemetery a park like appearance.

Additionally flush markers are used as foot markers on plots that have a family headstone to identify the graves of family members. (below right).

Bronze Flush

The bronze grave marker can be set into a concrete foundation (as shown) or can be mounted onto a granite base (below left and center) depending on cemetery regulations.
