Bronze Refinishing

Many headstones and grave markers suffer discoloration and other forms of weathering over time. Additionally either by accident or vandalism headstones may be cracked or broken.

Fairway monuments offers complete refinishing and or repair services to restore your headstone or markers to as close to brand new condition depending on the damage or discoloration.

Refinishing a bronze marker can be done at any time, whether at the time of a second burial or just to restore it's appearance.

Bronze alloys contain copper. When bronze comes in contact with water and oxygen it oxidizes. That means over time it will "rust" causing it to turn green (verdigris). See photo above on right.

Double markers purchased at the time of the first burial become weathered over time and at the time of the second burial will show a significant contrast to the new ribbon when it is attached.

Whether you have a single or double bronze marker, Fairway Monuments offers a process which will restore the entire marker to it's original warm bronze color. See photo below on the right.

During this process the marker will be removed from the grave and taken to the restoration shop where it will be totally refinished and then be reinstalled on the grave.

Granite & Marble Statue Refinishing

Over time Granite will become stained due to acid rain, lawn watering and grass clippings. This happens to civic or private memorials, cemetery monuments and footstones.

Refinishing the granite may become necessary when updating the civic or personal for an anniversary or ceremony or in a cemetery at the time of a second or subsequent burial when a new panel with a name and date is sandblasted into the stone.

Fairway Monuments offers a process which will restore the entire headstone to its original color. (below right). This process will be done on site and could take several days, depending on the discoloration.

Applying this special process to marble statues will remove years of weathering, acid rain damage and mold from the statue restoring it to like new appearance.
