Sandblasting
When the second individual dies the date of death will need to be added to the memorial. This is where Fairway Monuments can help. We are able to complete all sandblasting on-site at the cemetery. We are proud of the fact that Fairway Monuments has a sandblaster that has graduated an advanced sandblasting training program and has worked alongside a master carver as well as several monument manufacturers. This enables us to design and complete all sandblasting and engravings without contracting or relying on another company to do our work. We have made the investment into state-of-the-art computer software and plotter systems. These programs give us the ability to match the lettering on existing monuments should you need the addition of names and dates as well as any custom artwork and designs, regardless of who created the initial memorial.

What is Sandblasting?
The process is simple and pretty much self-explanatory: shooting a high velocity, continuous spray of sand (or other abrasive media) at a given object with the intent to remove something attached or cut into the surface of the stone in order to add information or decoration such as a death date on an existing monument.
A sandblasting pot and an adequate air supply to sustain the large volume of air required to keep up with the demand is required to complete the task as well as personal safety equipment.
How the Sandblasting Process Works
This service involves us taking a rubbing of the existing monument's font, size and spacing. This ensures we create an exact match of the lettering on the existing monument.
Please keep in mind that engraving work cannot be done on a wet stone, or on extremely cold or hot days. Therefore, we must schedule around the weather.
Our Prices
For lettering 3 inches or less in height:
- First 10 characters $395.00
- Each additional character after 10 is $5.00 each
- There is an additional charge for lettering above 3 inches in height.
- Most foreign languages are available but call for pricing.
- For standard or custom design work please call for pricing.
- Adding a frosted panel $125.00
